Coloradans love their sports, and that's not surprising, with four big-name professional franchises to cheer on in the eastern Colorado and Wyoming Rockies region. The thin air at Coors Field helps the hometown Colorado Rockies hit homers throughout the Major League Baseball season. The nearby Pepsi Center serves as the home arena of both the NBA's Denver Nuggets and the NHL's Colorado Avalanche. Also in Denver, INVESCO Field not only acts as the home field for the NFL's Broncos, but also for the Colorado Rapids, the local Major League Soccer team.
Near Colorado Springs, the Jungle Boxing Gym is the site of both the men's and women's U.S. boxing championships each year, as well as the Under-19 boxing championships. There's also auto racing in Colorado Springs as well as professional volleyball near Boulder to help get your heart pumping. On the northern end of the region, in Wyoming's capital, Cheyenne, bronco busters ride 'em like modern-day cowboys at Frontier Park during the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo.
