Ballooning around Denver, Colorado and the Wyoming Rockies
Ballooning is the rage in the eastern Colorado and Wyoming Rockies. The way the scenery changes ever so slowly from such a high altitude, from prairie to mountain, being able to see 100 miles in every direction, and spotting animals as small as a hare from above - are the draws to ballooning in this region
One of the most popular balloon launches is at Chatfield Lake, southwest of Denver off State Road 470. However you can also find launches from Boulder, Fort Collins, Castle Rock, and Colorado Springs. Some of the companies offering balloon rides based out of these cities are willing to launch from virtually wherever you want them to within the region
Skydiving around Denver, Colorado and the Wyoming Rockies
There are several places to skydive in this region. There are those who say skydiving is the best way to experience the Rockies, as some of the best and most extreme scenery the Midwest has to offer is combined with the extreme experience of freefalling from a plane. Skydiving companies usually fly out of the more municipal and non-commercial airports; you can find these outside Denver, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, and Canon City.
