Expert White Water Rafting Review

Venture down the whitewater of the Taylor River. Experience the 18 miles of Class III-IV (upper), III-IV (lower) rapids, limited sections for families and first-timers. This section is located in south-central Colorado, 25 miles west of Buena Vista.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from May to September, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from a half day to a full day. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts. Portage may be required.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips. Outfitters on the Taylor River offer trips suitable for families.

Expect to See: Sheep and elk in an environment of canyons, mountains, and glaciers.
