Venture down the whitewater of the Piedra River. Experience the 22 miles of Class IV-V rapids, steep walled gorges and dramatic drops coupled with spectacular scenery. This section is located in southwest Colorado, between Pagosa Springs and Durango, 3 miles north of Hwy 160.
Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from May to July, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from a day trip up to 2 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts.
Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips, and whitewater experience is recommended.
Expect to See: An environment of wilderness, and mountains.
