Shoot the whitewater rapids of the Lower Gunnison River and challenge the 41 miles of Class I-II rapids. These sections, Escalante and Dominquez canyons, are located in western Colorado, west of Colorado Springs, 5 miles from Hwy 50.
Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from May to August, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from a day trip up to 3 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts. Portage may be required.
Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips. Outfitters on the Lower Gunnison River offer trips suitable for families.
