Our Ski Specialist Says:

For an easy and gentle ski vacation experience, Ski Cooper prides itself in being one of the friendliest mountains in Colorado. Offering up a variety of lessons and just about as much beginner terrain as expert, Ski Cooper is a favorite for families or novice skiers and riders just getting their start. Nearby Leadville serves as base camp for the ski area, one of the oldest in Colorado, and is a great place for a bit of exploration into Colorado's mining past and frontier heritage. The isolated town is where the "unsinkable" Molly Brown made her fortune finding gold. Today it has plenty of reasonable lodging options and activities, all with a very woodsy, remote feel for the perfect, quiet vacation – other than the kids' noise of course.

Ski Cooper has 400 acres of skiable terrain available by one of four lifts (1 triple, 1 double and 2 surface lifts), and 2,400 acres of backcountry skiing and riding in the Chicago Ridge available by snowcat. The backcountry bowl and glade skiing terrain can take you as high as 12,600 feet in elevation on top of the Continental Divide. From 3,000 to 10,000 feet in length, there are a variety of slopes with vertical drops up to 1,400 feet per run. A snowboarding park is located on the Molly Mayfield run.

4 lifts including 2 surface lifts and 2 chair lifts. $$ (Moderately Priced)
