Things to do / Travel Guide
People the world over know that the Colorado Rockies region is among the best, if not the best for skiing. Light, fluffy “champagne” powder falls from the heavens onto the sky-high Rocky Mountain peaks in places like Vail and Aspen in every season save for the summer. Winter and spring, in particular, are the peak skiing seasons here. As spring makes way for summer, the weather is ripe for outdoor activities, such as fishing, hiking, rafting, and wildlife viewing.
The weather in the lengthy winter season is bitterly cold, with thick blankets of powdery snow almost constantly covering the ground. Springtime weather ranges from cool to warm, with a possibility of snowfalls or rain showers. Summers are lovely with warm to hot days and cool evenings. The weather is relatively dry and sunny and wildflowers are in full bloom. Falls are warm and dry, although brief cold spells are possible.
