Our Zoo and Aquarium Expert Says:

Nearly 200 different species of animals are represented in the Buttonwood Park Zoo, ranging from tiny frogs to enormous elephants. With just a couple of exceptions, all of the animals carry out the zoo's theme, "From the Berkshires to the Sea." The focus is on the land and water-based wildlife of Massachusetts, with special emphasis on creating the natural habitats in which the animals actually live. Some of the animals you'll see include the American eel, horseshoe crab, bison, and bobcat.
