Things to do / Travel Guide

Address:147 Wolf Den Drive
Pomfret, Connecticut

Our Nature Nut Says:

Meaning "stream of good fishing," Mashamoquet was once the domain of Mohegan Chief Uncas, prior to English settlement. The park itself is actually a combination of three parks, including Mashamoquet brook, Wolf Den, and Saptree Run. Today, visitors to the Park are welcome to enjoy nature, hiking and swimming in the Brook, as well as fishing for trout, which are regularly stocked here. Mashamoquet boasts natural rock features as well as great fall foliage and mountain laurels. When hiking, remember to keep your eyes peeled for the variety of bird species that call Mashamoquet home.
