She's a witch! Since 1692 young girls have hysterically been calling this out at woman in Salem. Hundreds were accused and imprisoned, defenseless against accusations. The summer of executions would soon follow. At the Salem Witch Museum visitors relive Salem 1692 as they receive a dramatic history lesson on the witch trials of 1692.
As you step into the exhibit you'll be welcomed by Macbeth's three witches. Images of stereotypical witches are all over the walls. Images like the witch in Hansel and Gretel, The Wizard of Oz and Joan of Arc. You'll be fascinated by how the face of a witch has changed over time.
At the Salem Witch Museum you can speak with a Celtic woman turned witch and other practitioners of Wicca. You'll be asked by Senator Joseph McCarthy and Joseph Welsh to consider witch hunting and what it really means. The lessons of stereotyping and prejudice will come full circle as you complete the fascinating exhibit.
The museum store contains novelty items and special Halloween items with witch imagery. Cards, games, souvenirs, jewelry, books and other collectibles are sure to fancy your dark side.
You can reach the Salem Witch Museum by bus from Boston Haymarket taking the #450 or #455 to downtown Salem. By Commuter Rail: From North Station, take Ipswich or Rockport Trains. At Salem station, exit up stairs to Washington St. That is, if you're not afraid.

Bridget Bishop was tried on June 2 and hanged on June 10 thereby setting the precedent for a summer of executions.
