Our Museum Expert Says:

Love science and technology? With over 550 interactive exhibits, from IMAX movies and a planetarium to the brand new Butterfly Garden and the Star Wars exhibit, the Science Museum is a kid paradise with something exciting for everyone in the family.

Covering topics such as Life Science, Tech and Engineering, Earth and Space, Math and Physical Science, and Nanomedicine, this museum is a wonderland of education and recreation. Kid visitors will love the 3D World of Sharks exhibit where they can take a virtual swim with the Great White. They can follow that up with a visit to the Lord of the Rings exhibit or stargazing at the Planetarium. If and when your heads become too crammed with science and technology, take a break with a laser light show, enhanced with popular Beatles' tunes such as "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Get Back," and "I Am the Walrus," or choose from Laser Metallica, Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin. The Museum also offers programs for adults on alternative energy. Or head on over to the Friday night Science Street Café where science blends with socializing, appetizers and martinis. And if the café's not enough to assuage your appetite, why not grab a bite to eat at one of the Museum's constellation of eateries offering spectacular views of Boston, Cambridge, and the Charles River.

The M.B.T.A.'s Green Line subway to takes you right to the Science Park station on the Green Line's Lechmere-bound "E" train; the Museum is diagonally across the street (O'Brien Highway), just over the Charles River Dam draw bridge. And remember to be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes when covering this large museum. Feet can get tired whether big or small!
