Our Museum Expert Says:

Visit the only museum in the world dedicated to bad art!

Located in Dedham, Massachusetts, the Museum of Bad Art (or MOBA), is dedicated to the tongue-in-cheek display of well, Bad Art. Founded in 1993, the museum's permanent collection includes 250 pieces, 25 of which are on public display at any one time. Filled with poorly executed examples of paintings or sculpture, the Museum of Bad Art calls its collection pieces "Art too bad to be ignored." The most famous is "Lucy in the Field with Flowers," which was fished out of the trash in Boston by Scott Wilson, who later founded the museum, and is referred to as "MOBA's Mona Lisa".

Pieces in the collection range from the unsuccessful work of talented artists to works of crude, execution by lesser known artists. A large array of MOBA's bad art can be seen online with clumps devoted to Portraiture, Landscape, and Unseen Forces.

If you're in the Boston area and want a humorous break in the day, head on over to the Museum of Bad Art! To get there, take the Orange Line to Forest Hills, then the East Walpole bus (#34E) from Forest Hills. Ask the driver to let you off in Dedham Square.

From Museum of Bad Art:
