Orrin Keyes Beach, located on Massachusetts's Hyannis Harbor, is perfect for your family vacation. One of Cape Cod's most popular beaches, Orrin Keyes is only one of three public beaches in the town of Hyannis, MA. (The other two are Veterans Park Beach and Kalmus Park Beach). The beach is on the southern end of Sea Street and about a 25 minute walk from the JFK Museum. If you continue west along the beach you will reach the Kennedy Compound. Orrin Keyes Beach on Cape Cod is one of the more laid-back and family-friendly beaches in the area. The beach is quite small and does not get as crowded as some of the other nearby Cape Cod beaches. If you are looking for a bigger beach, Craigville Beach in nearby Barnstable is the biggest on Cape Cod. If you are a surfer, you are out of luck – no surfing allowed and if you are looking for picnic facilities, you may be better off at Veterans Park Beach.
If you need some help getting your bearings, Orrin Keyes is located between Hyannis Harbor and South Yarmouth just about midway on the Lower Cape (that is the southern side of Cape Cod). The waters off the coast belong to Nantucket Sound. The drive from Boston takes under and hour and a half, longer on weekends. The drive up the cape to Provincetown take about another hour and is well worth it for the attractions along the way.
