Our Beach Bum Says:

Located on the Cape Cod Natural Seashore, the Coast Guard Beach proves yet again that Cape Cod is one of the best vacation spots in the world. With beautiful cliffs in the background, clean sand, and clear waters, you really can't go wrong by choosing Coast Guard Beach as your next beach destination. Water can be a bit cold, but is full of great waves – great for boogie boarders and surfers! Oh, and keep your eyes peeled and you may even catch a glimpse of a seal!

Other highlights at Coast Guard Beach include Great Beach, which was named by Henry David Thoreau because, well, it's great! There's also Nauset Marsh which is near the bike trail behind the old Coast Guard Station (for which the beach is named). The marsh is filled with birds and is great for exploring. You may be lucky and see a nesting plover along your way!

Some people view this as a pro and some as a con: There is no parking near the beach. This means that drivers need to park a whiles away and then hop on the tram which picks up frequently; but it also means that there are no cars near the beach, making the beach feel as natural and as isolated as it truly is.

And here's a bit of trivia for you: Before the Mayflower landed at Plymouth Rock, it made a stop at what is now Coast Guard Beach!

Coast Guard Beach is located in Eastham, 1½ miles from Nauset and Doane Roads. Have fun at one of Cape Cod's most beautiful beaches!
