Our Zoo and Aquarium Expert Says:
Kentucky is horses and the Kentucky Horse Park is the place for the full experience. See the champion thoroughhbred horses, including Cigar and John Henry that live and breed here. See the riders put the 24 different breeds of horses through their paces and then meet the riders and pet the horses. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the horse-drawn tours - sit back and enjoy, while the Clydesdales, Belgians, and other Draft Horses do all the work.
Spend a few minutes on the trail - horse and pony rides are a popular way to explore the countryside. Gentle ponies can accommodate kids as young as two years old. For the serious folk - the Kentucky Horse Park is the site of the International Museum of the Horse, dedicated to the history of the horse and their interaction with people through the ages and around the world. A second attraction, the American Saddlebred Museum focuses on Kentucky's oldest native breed.
Especially for kids: Animal Rides.
