Our History Buff Says:

Louisville's Locust Grove, built in 1790, was the home of Revolutionary War hero General George Rogers Clark (the founder of Louisville), but that's not all - Presidents Monroe, Jackson, and Taylor all spent time here, as did the well-known explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. You can learn more about the Locust Grove's history with a tour of the home and its historic artifacts. Locust Grove is a fine and well preserved example of Georgian Architecture, part of a 55 acre site including a smokehouse, stone and log buildings and gardens. The furnishings represent the local Kentucky crafts of 200 years ago. Plan on an hour visit for a guided tour and video presentation.
