Things to do / Travel Guide
The best time to visit Central Kentucky and Tennessee is in the fall, when the air isn't too humid, and temperatures are rather pleasant. A lack of rain in this season means that outdoor activities like hiking are a pleasure to take part in, while at the same time you can really appreciate the region's spectacular foliage.
Winters in Central Kentucky and Tennessee are cold and wet with occasional light snowfall. During the day, temperatures often hover around the freezing mark. Springs follow with warmer temperatures, sunny and humid days, and common heavy, but brief, rainfall. The spring nights, however, are cool. During this period, flowers, including cherry blossoms, dogwoods, azaleas, and apple blossoms are in bloom. Summers are incredibly muggy with hot and humid weather and lengthy heat waves with temperatures in the 90s for weeks at a time. Falls are the driest season with warm and sunny weather.
