Tennessee Airports near Nashville
A hub for Southwest Airlines, Nashville International Airport (BNA) in Nashville, Tennessee, is also serviced by nearly all of the country's major airlines and has regular direct flights to most major U.S. cities. This airport is the region's largest and most convenient to fly into.
Kentucky Airports near Louisville
Louisville and Lexington, in Kentucky, and Chattanooga, Tennessee, each have their own, smaller airports, which offer flights to Houston, Cincinnati, and other large cities near the region. For those planning on traveling to Lexington or Louisville, it may be better to fly into nearby Cincinnati. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a major hub for Delta and Comair airlines. Nearly every other major airline services the airport as well from dozens of cities across the country. From Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International you can rent a car and drive to your planned central Kentucky and Tennessee destination. Taxi and shuttle services are also available to take you to the north-central Kentucky destination of your choice.
Kentucky and Tennessee Driving Directions
From Chicago, I-65 runs along the western extremity of the Central Kentucky and Tennessee region, connecting Louisville to Nashville, as well as the communities between the two cities. I-71 runs from Cincinatti, Ohio, along a southwest path to Louisville. Interstate I-75 runs north-south along the eastern border of the region connecting Cincinatti, Lexington and communities along its route to Chattanooga, and continuing a southern path to Atlanta, Georgia. U.S. Highways 431, 231, and 127 bisect the region travelling in the north-south direction through both Kentucky and Tennessee. Driving east-west, I-64 runs from St. Louis, Missouri and passes through Louisville and Lexington, and I-40 runs horizontally across the state of Tennessee, passing through Nashville and Memphis.

Bus to Nashville, Tennessee and Kentucky
One can arrive by bus in Central Kentucky and Tennessee directly to Louisville, Lexintgon, Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Nashville, Tennessee via Greyhound Lines from many nearby major U.S. cities, like Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Knoxville, Jackson, and Birmingham. Once in the region, you can continue on to many smaller communities, including Ashland, Berea, Elizabethtown, and London, in Kentucky. Greyhound also runs busses to Chattanooga, Cookeville, Crossville, and Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
