Shoot the whitewater rapids of the Grande Ronde River. Challenge the 87 miles of Class I-II+ rapids, a great multi-day trip for you and the family. These sections, Minam to Troy and Troy to Confluence with Snake River, are located in southeast Washington, east of Walla Walla, 1 mile north of the Washington Oregon border, on Grande Ronde Rd.
Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from April to July, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from a day trip up to 5 days. Popular trips include the 43 mile section from Minam to Troy, and the 45 mile section from Troy to the confluence of Snake River. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, oar rafts, and dories. Portage may be required.
Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips. Outfitters on the Grande Ronde River offer trips suitable for families.
Expect to See: Ospreys, bald eagles, elk, bighorn sheep, deer, and bears in an environment of wilderness, and mountains.
