Our Ski Specialist Says:

Hailed as the "Best Snow in Idaho", Brundage Mountain is a full service ski area perfect for a daylong or weeklong getaway. Located just 121 miles from Boise off Highway 55 nestles untracked powder fields, open glades, corduroy trails, and backcountry Sno-Cat action.

The site is open daily from Thanksgiving to mid-April during the hours of 930am to 430pm - no night skiing is available. Snowfall averages 300 inches a season with a vertical drop of 1800 feet and a summit reaching 7,640 feet high. 1,500 acres of terrain are accessible by the lift system which includes a high speed quad, and 2 triple seaters. The backcountry is even larger, with an amazing 19,000 acres to explore and conquer.

Those on snowboards will enjoy the "Jammer Park" which combines tabletops, rollers, rails, and jumps all set to music pumping out of speakers to keep the energy up. Snowboarders are welcome on all of 46 trails of varying levels of difficulty. Beginners can glide down "Easy Street" which features wide open and smooth snow, while the intermediate riders can brush the corduroy on "Temptation" and drop into the "Lakeview Bowl". Experts can feel the wind kiss their faces down the steeps of "Hidden Valley" or charter the open glades on the south side of the mountain.

Adult, Junior (12-18), Youth, and Senior full or half day passes which start at 1pm are for sale at the ticket counter. Children 6 and under ski or ride free when accompanied by a paying adult. Children too young to ride yet can be checked into the "Bunny Hutch" which welcomes children from 6 weeks to 8 years old to play on the many toys and games they have waiting inside.

Ski and stay packages are available from the AmericInn in McCall. While you're in McCall, stop in at Wild River Java coffeehouse for a nice toddy to banish the chills, or get an exotic buffalo pizza from Crusty's while washing it down with a cold brew. McCall which is the closest town to Tamarack offers cabins, private homes, and a bed and breakfast for options. Circle out a little further and you'll find multiple hotel options.

For the "Best Snow in Idaho" don't miss out – they didn't earn that name for nothing!
