Our Nature Nut Says:

Home to North America's tallest sand dune, at 470 feet tall, this park is all about playing in the sand - and visitors are welcome to do so when they climb the dunes! Hikers will enjoy the 5-mile Bruneau Dunes hiking trail, and there are ample fishing opportunities in the small lakes that lie refreshingly at the bottom of the dunes. The park itself is ecologically diverse and includes marsh, prairie and lake habitats, as well as cool nocturnal desert wildlife. Be sure to check out the stars at the Observatory as well as the Nature Store for stargazing bric-a-brac. This park has one of the longest camping seasons in the Idaho system, so take advantage and spend the night at Bruneau State Park!
