Things to do / Travel Guide
When you're in a state which boasts some of the greatest of the great outdoors, zoo offerings must be pretty special if they're to entice you in from the wide open spaces. The Central Idaho region doesn't disappoint.
You'll find 11 acres and 85 different species at Zoo Boise. The African Plains exhibit houses lions and giraffes among other cool animals you don't generally see in these parts of the United States.
The second great offering in this region is the World Center for Birds of Prey. The Center has many hands-on exhibits where you'll discover - among other things - how birds fly. You'll also get to touch eggs of many shapes and sizes, peek inside an owl's nest, and spot raptors in their native habitats from forests to canyons. What are some of the awesome adaptations of birds of prey? You'll learn that, too.
