Luxury Vacation in Sun Valley and Ketchum, Idaho

Idaho vacationers looking to combine a stay in a luxury resort with active outdoor activities choose Sun Valley and Ketchum. Hollywood stars and other in the “rich and famous” set have been coming here since the 1930's. Many have homes here and frequent the upscale restaurants that the area is known for. The towns of Sun Valley and Ketchum may have more boutiques and art galleries than the rest of Idaho combined.

In 1936, Sun Valley Resort created the concept of a resort ski destination in the United States, similar to European ski resorts of the day.
The resort has been continuously expanded and renovated since and the upscale ski resort can be quite reasonable when taking into account the activities available. For families or larger groups, the ultimate in luxury may be renting one of the seven Sun Valley Resorts Cottages. The cottages include sun decks, fireplaces, private hot tub and up to seven bedrooms. Expect to pay $1000 and more per night. That's a lot of potatoes.

Active Resort Vacation around Sun Valley, Idaho

A resort vacation in Sun Valley and Ketchum is by definition, an active vacation. Sun Valley Resort has maintained its status as one of the premier ski destinations in the United States for decades. In the summer, the area is a center of hiking, mountain biking, fishing and much more.

Sun Valley is a good base for exploring the Sawtooth Mountains National Recreation Area to the north and for a day trip to Craters of the Moon National Monument about one hour to the southeast of Sun Valley.
