Located along Florida's scenic Hillsborough River since 1979 is the Tama Museum of Art. This lovely museum showcases 20th century and contemporary art and a renowned collection of Greek and Roman antiquities. In addition, extensive collections of sculpture and photography, as well as wonderful temporary exhibitions are on display for your viewing delights.

The museum's Antiquities Collection is one of the largest in the Southeast. The Joseph Veach Noble Collection is at the core, including painted Greek pottery, south Italian vases, sculptures, and glass and metal artifacts. It makes for an exciting history and revelation of these ancient cultures. The Decorative Arts Collection includes European and American porcelain pieces by Sevres and Boehm. Glass by Louis Comfort Tiffany, Emil Galle and Antonin Daum accompany other beautiful glass pieces.

Showcased at the Tampa Museum of Art are paintings by Rockwell Kent, Abraham Walkowitz, Abraham Rattner, Ralph Goings and Sylvia Plimack Mangold as well as regional artists Syd Solomon, Theodore Coe, Mernet Larsen and Theo Wujcik. The photography collection contains over 1000 photos from varying techniques and formats. Some of the items on display include images related to Greece and Rome and includes works by 20th century photographers such as Berenice Abbott, Adam Fuss, Robert Mapplethorpe, Sandy Skoglund, Andres Serrano and Cindy Sherman.

The Guilders Museum Store is open seven days a week and offers unique gifts, books, jewelry and children's items, and is sure to find anything for any every shopper.

To reach the Tampa Museum of Art from Orlando: Take I-4 West to the I-275 South. From I-275 take exit #44 and proceed south on Ashley Dr. 5 lights down you'll see the museum's underground parking garage.
