Our Museum Expert Says:

Art lovers, get ready to celebrate the world's most comprehensive collection of the renowned Spanish artist's work. From impressionist and cubist styles to dreamy surrealist imagery, the Salvador Dali Museum has something for everyone to enjoy.

The diverse collection at the Dali museum can be seen in the collection of 96 oil paintings, over 100 watercolors and drawings, 1,300 graphics, photographs, sculptures and objects d'art, and the extensive archival library. Probably the most famous of Dali's larger works is the "The Hallucinogenic Toreador," which uses a double-imagery technique that Dali popularized, allowing the viewer to see different forms when shifting perspective.

The whimsical and fun artwork here is enjoyable for adults and kids alike; the holograms, optical illusions, and strange, dreamlike canvases will surely keep kids interest. The Dali Museum is also a great community event and cultural center, with free films screened on the walls outside the museum under the moonlight.

To get here, take I-275 southbound across the Howard Frankland Bridge to St. Petersburg. Take exit #22 (I-175 E) towards Tropicana Field (exit will be on your left.) Follow until the end; continue through light to 3rd Street S. Take a right onto 3rd Street South; continue for half a mile - the Dali Museum will be on your left.
