Our Museum Expert Says:

The Orlando Science Center has hands-on educational exhibits on every topic from mechanics and electricity, to the solar system and optics. Whether a science lover or just science-curious, the Science Center has something stimulating in store for you.

Originally opened as the Central Florida Museum, the once anthropology-centered museum is brimming with everything science. Located in a cool building with an atrium that's home to live gators and turtles, visitors to the Science Center will have plenty to explore. Walk through a model of the human body and see how food is digested and absorbed in the Body Zone, an exhibit great for kids and adults alike. The CineDome, a movie theater with a giant eight-story screen, offers large-format IWERKS films as well as planetarium programs for those who want to float amongst the stars. In addition, the Science Center is home to the Crosby Observatory which has Florida's largest publicly accessible refractor telescope. Several smaller scopes are available for night sky viewing on Friday and Saturday nights. Visitors can view the four moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn. If all the excitement has made you hungry, the OSC Café, overlooking Lock Haven Park, offers light salads and burgers along with plenty of other food selections. The Orlando Science Center is located at 777 East Princeton Street, so come on down—there's something here for everyone to enjoy.
