Ever wonder what it feels like to stand in hurricane force winds? Ever wanted to bike across the longest high-wire with no fear of falling? At the Museum of Science and Industry, the largest science center in the South, visitors can experience these feats and more at the Museum where interactive science and fun are one and the same.
This non-profit Museum, also called MOSI, is home to countless cool exhibits dedicated to promoting a better understanding of science and technology. MOSI has Florida's only IMAX dome theater, providing viewers with over 10,500 square feet of visual imagery and features, IMAX films, and showings of popular movies such as "Harry Potter." The Museum of Science and Industry also features "Kids in Charge," the largest children's learning center in the country, where kids can actually lie on a bed of nails and compete against their folks at tug of war - and win. While here, be sure to check out the Saunders planetarium, the only one in Tampa, and the "Amazing You" exhibition, where kids and adults can explore the human body from DNA to individual cells - and even learn where babies come from.
Since you'll probably spend a minimum of 4 hours here, drop by the Red Baron Café which is filled with Video games and a large screen TV, for a bite to eat.
