Peruse an extensive collection of Asian art from Cambodia, China, Thailand, Nepal, Burma and more. From brilliant jades to bronze sculptures, this magnificent collection is a must for all those art lovers passionate about the Orient.
The Museum of Asian Art features a wonderful collection of art from all over Asia, and includes a large collection of Chinese jades, bronze Southeast Asian sculptures of the 18th and 19th centuries, and Cambodian stone figures dating to the 12th and 13th centuries. Upon entering the museum, visitors will notice the lovely pavilion which serves as an entrance to the center and Asian tea garden across the lake. The Museum houses the Koger Collection of Chinese ceramics, and has more than 10,000 square feet of total display area. Guests will enjoy lectures, seminars, visits by guest scholars, exhibitions, public programs, and other activities related to Asian art and culture. There is also a new Visitors' Pavilion admissions center and a Museum Store, as well as the restored, historic Asolo Theater, a new restaurant, a video orientation gallery, and a reception area for school groups, along with a greatly expanded library and archives. The Museum of Asian Art is located at 640 South Washington Boulevard (the Art & Antique Center) in Sarasota.
