Heritage Village in Largo, off of Tampa Bay, is a re-created Florida pioneer village, with over 25 historic homes, the oldest of which is a log house dating back to 1852. Also in Heritage Village are a picture-perfect replica of a one-room schoolhouse of that era and the home that Henry Plant, the main developer of Tampa, built for his foreman. Other interesting structures are the Railroad Depot (and obligatory Caboose), the Church, Smokehouse, the General Store as well as various residences. The buildings were originally located at different locations in Pinellas County.
The Shirley McPherson Native Plant Trail, on the site, is a well-marked walk through an area of native Florida plants, including Pine and Palmetto, and wildlife.
