Fun Things to do in Orlando

Yes, going to Disney World is a fun thing to do while you're in Orlando. But Orlando actually has other cool things to do, and they're worth checking out! For example, you can take a ride through the warm Florida air with the Air Florida Helicopter Charters. These state-of-the-art helicopters offer passengers a panoramic view of Orlando's parks—both natural and manmade—and other sites of interest.

Another fun option that the kids will love is a stop at Monkey Joe's. Here, rain or shine, kids can jump around and act like monkeys in the huge inflatable play center. There's even a Mimi Monkey Zone for the younger tots.

Up for something really exciting? How about a spur of the moment wedding at the Royal Wedding Chapel?

Fun Things to do in Florida

Hands down, the top recommendation for this section is to go on a hot air balloon flight over the Central Florida region. The best time to go is during sunrise, and some flights offer delectable champagne breakfasts. In the same category of flight, you'll find open cockpit biplane rides of fields of birds of paradise and airboat rides down the Boggy Creek.

There are also various cruise lines that take tourists and locals alike down the Gulf to see alligators, turtles, and dolphins. There's even a special Dolphin Encounter Cruise—highly recommended.

Got the kids with you? Head to Dinosaur World in Plant City. One hour out of Orlando and you'll find yourself in a subtropical forest with over 100 life-size dinosaurs!

Fun Things to do in Tampa

The Tidal Walkway Nature Trail, part of the Tampa Electric Manatee Viewing Center, will appeal to pretty much anyone on a warm Tampa day. The 900-foot walkway will take you by the Tampa Bay Estuary where you'll get an up close and personal tour of native plantlife, birdlife, and marine life, including a warm pool filled with manatees at the end of the walk. The best part of this adventure is knowing that these manatees are wild manatees that live in the warm waters by the power plant purely on their own accord.

A trip to Tampa would not be complete without a visit to the Yuengling Brewery. The brewery offers a fantastic tour about how beer is made. The tour is free, the beer samples are free, and the tour guides are interesting—all in all a winner in our book!

Fun Things to do in Disney

You don't have to look to hard to find fun things to do at Disney World, but the following tips should help bring that fun to a new level. First, for the little princesses in your vacation party: Walk through the Cinderella Castle into Fantasy land. Just to your left you'll see a little shop called Tink's Treasures. Tinkerbell sleeps until woken, so if you get there early enough, you may be chosen to help wake the sleepy fairy—a true delight for a little girl.

If you're not all a bunch of six-year old girls, however, you may find more excitement from the Cirque de Soleil La Nouba show. Located in Downtown Disney's West Side—a cool place to explore in itself—you'll find the otherworldly experience that can only be described by those who have seen it. The acrobatics in the La Nouba show are to die for; the music and dancing is divine.

The Marketplace, another section of Downtown Disney, hosts what is probably the world's largest Disney Store and includes a Rainforest Café—complete with the most realistic animatronics gators, snakes, lizards, and pirates, even the adults on scene may get a scare!

Cool and Interesting Things to do in Orlando, Florida

Probably the coolest thing to do in Orlando is to visit Disney Quest, a virtual reality experience located in the heart of Downtown Disney. Quest is most attractive to teenagers and to visitors of a gaming and imaginative disposition, as they'll find five floors filled with cutting edge technology in interactive games, 3D experiences, and virtual reality.

Need a Disney break? Head to the Peace River Refuge and Ranch and enjoy an exciting stroll in this non-profit animal sanctuary. You'll come within mere feet of a white tiger, a wolf, some primates, and other homeless animals that have been given permanent homes at this shelter.
