The Golden Bears' road to a bowl bid each year is pretty tough, considering the Pac-10 is one of the toughest conferences in all of college football. Nonetheless, their games are always exciting to watch alongside 73,000 other screaming fans in the stadium.
The Golden Bears have a long and rich history, dating back over 100 years. Some prominent program alumni are football legends like Tony Gonzalez, Todd Steussie, and Steve Bartkowski, among others. Famous plays like Roy "Wrong Way" Riegels' fumble recovery in the 1929 Rose Bowl and "the Play" (five laterals leading to a last-second touchdown against Stanford) in 1982 are also part of the Golden Bears lore.
