Located in the heart of downtown San Jose, the Tech Museum of Innovation, or simply The Tech, is all about technology, its effects, and how much fun it can really be. Now housed in a 132,000-square-foot facility, the Tech Museum allows visitors to grapple with the latest in modern technology and boasts over 240 interactive exhibits, programs and activities, as well as an online "Plan Your Visit" interactive feature which maximizes your time by generating a must-see list for your family by age and interest.

Visitors can feel what its like to survive an earthquake on a giant shake table, operate an underwater ROV (remotely operated vehicle), and in the Life Tech exhibit, explore technologies which enhance human performance. Older kids will enjoy pondering the debate about the applications and ethics in biotechnology, and everyone is sure to love the awesome IMAX Dome Theater, which shows a variety of movies (i.e. Harry Potter, The Polar Express, Roving Mars) and educational films. Students can even make their own contraptions using the popular board game: Mouse Trap. Best of all, the Tech Museum of Innovation is big enough that you can usually find an area that isn't crowded.
