At the Children's Discovery Museum, in San Jose, California, children and adults alike are invited to take an active part in science. Since children learn best through interactive encounters, the Children's Discovery Museum ensures that every exhibit caters to this mission. Whether you're collecting fruits and veggies from the Rainbow Market or saying hello to the friendly fish in the garden pond, your children will be stimulated and motivated to learn, play, and become a part of the science world around them!
Enjoy hands-on exploration in the Wonder Cabinet, a place for children ages four and under to walk through an environment that caters to every sense—there's the Sand Laboratory, a walk-in kaleidoscope, and a carousel of light and music. Older kids might enjoy the Cornhusk Dolls exhibit, where they can manipulate pre-soaked cornhusks into dolls like the Iroquois Nations did hundreds of years ago—a great way to connect to the past! Kids will also love the Secrets of Circles exhibit, where they can go on a circular scavenger hunt and draw circles on a glow-in-the-dark table!
Exhibits are plentiful, colorful, varied, and fun at this interactive center designed specifically for your little ones. And perhaps best of all, it costs only $8 to get in! The museum is wheelchair accessible and is also available for birthday parties and fieldtrips. Bring a picnic and eat at the surrounding Guadalupe River Park, or hang out in the Kids' Café while enjoying reasonably priced food and drinks. Bring your thinking caps and have fun exploring at the Children's Discovery Museum!
