Your best bet weather-wise for the Catskills and the Hudson River Valley is to visit the months of July and August, though June and September are pretty good too. At its zenith, the summer offers warm temperatures and dry weather, while beforehand it's pretty muggy and after it already starts getting cool.

Winters in the Catskills and the Hudson River Valley are windy and snowy, and the mercury most days remains below freezing. Snow blankets the ground throughout the better part of the season. Spring has mild daytime temperatures and very cold nighttime temperatures. There's a good amount of rain, and snowstorms are not completely out of the question. Towards the end of spring there is a mass blooming of flowers in the region and the skies become more regularly sunny and clear. Summer has excellent warm and sunny weather, while temperatures drop at night. Rainfalls tend to be heavy but infrequent. As the season progresses, the humidity decreases. The weather in the fall ranges from cool to downright freezing. In the beginning of the season it is generally dry and clear, though towards the end, snowstorms are possible.
