Things to do / Travel Guide
New Yorkers and other vacationers have been visiting the Catskills and the Hudson Valley region for well over 150 years, on account of its natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere. There are many options in the region for both the recreational and the highly-skilled golfer.
One of the most popular spots has been the famous Concord Resort and Golf Club, with its infamous and awesome Monster Course. Bunkers and water hazards are part of the challenge, but length - 7,650 yards from the “Monster Tees” - is the real difficulty. Don't worry, you can always swing from one of the closer tees, at which point the golf becomes playable.
On the east side of the Hudson River is Branton Woods, a course that has garnered high praise from such esteemed publications as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine. Strategically-placed bunkers and rolling greens in a naturalized area are part of the charm and challenge of this unique course.
