The extraordinarily diverse Chesapeake Bay, surrounded by Virginia and Maryland, is the largest estuary in North America. More than 120 parks, historical sites, museums, and water trails make up this grand gateway network.
The park features several unique driving tours, wildlife refuges, boat exhibits, museums and educational centers, and a host of diverse natural and scenic features. That's not to mention the recreational boating, swimming, crabbing, fishing, hiking, bird watching, windsurfing, biking, picnicking, and nature trails available! Special cultural and educational events are held throughout the Bay almost daily in the summer.
