Our Museum Expert Says:

Explore the Sensation Station and relax in the Oasis! Solve a mystery, and cook at the Diner! Port Discovery is a child's wonderland that leaves families coming back for more.

Port Discovery is the third largest children's museum in the United States, and has 3 floors of educational and interactive exhibits as well as programs for kids ages 2-10. Designed by the Walt Disney Company "Imagineers," KidWorks is especially popular with kids, who can climb, slide, and glide in this three-story urban tree-house. In the MPT Studio, visitors can see puppet shows, plays, karaoke, and more. Over at the Harvest Hill area, kids can barter, sell or trade crops at a roadside market, and shop for farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. Port Discovery also boasts a collection of high-tech toys which lets kids compose music, shoot videos, and produce their own cartoons. Should you get hungry, there are a number of places to eat within a one and a half block radius of Port Discovery.

Port Discovery is located in Baltimore's historic Fish Market building at 35 Market Place on the corner of Lombard Street and Market Place, with easy access by car from I-83 or I-95. It can be reached by bus via the MTA 7,10,19 and 20, with connections to Light Rail, or by Metro subway with a stop at Market Place/Shot Tower station that drops you off right here. If you're visiting on the weekend, aim for between 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and 11:30-12:00 pm on Sunday for the least crowded times, so you can maximize your fun here at Baltimore's Port Discovery!
