You'll navigate through paths, over bridges, around ponds, and through gorgeous displays of peonies, cherry trees, and native wildflowers. Native plants are the name of the game at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, and you'll learn as you go about plant life in the Potomac Valley, Virginia Wildflowers, and native trees and wetlands. Dogwoods, hosta, ferns, crab apples—your gateway into a flowering paradise!
Not to be missed is the Atrium at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. An ideal place for weddings (book early!), the Atrium comes complete with skylight, indoor stream and fountain, and outdoor ornamental gardens that will simply blow you away.
Different months highlight different gardens, so make sure you check to see which flowers are in season. For example, July and August bring life to the Butterfly Garden, hydrangeas, crepe myrtles, and the aquatic plants, while March and April showcase the daffodils, tulips, magnolias, flowering cherries, the Rock Garden, and the Lenten Rose. Fall foliage is at its peak in October and November and is a magnificent collection of colors and fragrances—not to be missed!
Bring the whole family to enjoy this indoor and outdoor sanctuary of beauty, nature, and education!
