Indian Wells Tennis Gardens

The home of the best attended tennis event outside of the grand slam, Indian Wells Tennis Gardens operates a rare spectacle outside of the four majors. They manage to put on a massive tournament, with both men and women competing during the same two weeks. Every March, many of the best tennis players in the world come out to the California desert to play in the Pacific Life Open, one of the biggest events in tennis.

While the tournament had been at Indian Wells since 1987, the current facility was not built until 2000. In 1996, the women's and men's draws were combined to the same two weeks, rather than being staggered as was the case in the past. As such, the tournament is one of very few with this distinction.
