Our History Buff Says:

Built in 1884, the McCallum Adobe is the oldest house in the city and serves as a window into an earlier time in Palm Springs, when it wasn't all movie star homes, golf courses, and world-class spas. The house is home to a museum which exhibits the history of the home, the city of Palm Springs, and of the Coachella Valley as a whole. John McCallum was the first European settler in the area and his home is used as an exhibit of the lifestyle of the early pioneers.

The McCallum Adobe, together with the 1893 building, Miss Cornelia's "Little House", makes up the Village Green Heritage Center. Visitors will enjoy this authentic taste of pioneer life in Palm Springs for the very reasonable admission fee of $1.
