Expert White Water Rafting Review

Experience the whitewater of the Talkeetna River. Shoot the 60 miles of Class III-IV+ rapids. Thrill seekers will find all that they need on the lower half of this run. This section is located in south-central Alaska, north-east of Anchorage, 50 miles from Denali National Park.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from June to September, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from 4 days to 5 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts. Portage may be required.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips, and whitewater experience is recommended.

Expect to See: Grizzly and black bears, and bald eagles in an environment of wilderness, canyons, and mountains.
