Expert White Water Rafting Review

Venture down the whitewater of the Nenana River. Experience the 15 miles of Class III-IV rapids, fed by the Yannert and Nenana glaciers. This water is cold so bring a wetsuit. This section passes through Denali National Park and is located in south-central Alaska, south of Healy, on route 3 -George Parks Hwy.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from May to September, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from less than half a day to 3 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts. Portage may be required.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips, and whitewater experience is recommended.

Expect to See: Grizzly bears, wolves, and eagles in an environment of wilderness, canyons, and glaciers.
