Our Nature Nut Says:

With the tallest mountain in North America, Denali (meaning "the high one" in the Athabaskan language) is, without a doubt, the ultimate adventure. Denali National Park lets you experience things that would never be possible in most other National Parks. A summer visit will allow you to hike an easy but breathtaking trail such as the Horseshoe Lake Hike or the Savage River Bar Trail, or observe one of the park's three daily dog sledding demonstrations. When the temperatures start to drop, sign up for an exhilarating sled ride behind a pack of energetic dogs, or snowshoe, ski, or snowmobile through the park's rugged terrain. Be aware that extreme weather conditions year-round can have an adverse effect on roads, trails, and activities. There's much more to this park than just Mt. McKinley, so get out there and explore!

The Alaska Range also includes countless other spectacular mountains and many large glaciers. Denali's more than 6 million acres also encompass a complete sub-arctic eco-system with large mammals.
