Don't tell anybody but…. Eaglecrest is the best kept secret in Alaska - until now. Located on Douglas Island, just 12 miles from downtown Juneau, you'll find few, if any, lines on lifts to the top. Once there, there are deep bowls for the experts, many challenging trails for intermediate skiers, and a variety of scenic runs for beginners. You'll often find untouched powder in the East Bowl, and a nice steep slope on Motherlode. It's best to go after January to avoid the rain. But don't worry if the weather isn't perfect. The very reasonable prices take the sting out of even the less than perfect days.
