Expert White Water Rafting Review

Venture down the whitewater of the East Brooks Range and experience the 150 miles of Class I-II rapids. These sections, Canning, Hulahula, and Kongakut, pass through Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and are located in northeast Alaska, in the eastern Brooks Range.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from June to August, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from 5 days to 12 days. The river is suitable for oar rafts.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips. Outfitters on the East Brooks Range offer trips suitable for families.

Expect to See: Wolves, caribou, moose, grizzly bears, musk ox, and Dall's sheep in an environment of wilderness, and mountains.
