Expert White Water Rafting Review

Venture down the whitewater of the Central Brooks Range and experience the 140 miles of Class I-II rapids. These sections, Koyukuk, Alatna, Jago, Killik, John, and Wild rivers, pass through Gates of the Arctic National Park, and are located in north-central Alaska, on the eastern edge of Gates of the Arctic National Park.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from July to August, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from 7 days to 14 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts. Portage may be required.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips. Outfitters on the Central Brooks Range offer trips suitable for families.
