Things to do / Travel Guide
It didn't take a rocket scientist to determine that people who win in Las Vegas casinos should have proper venues to relieve themselves of some of the heavy cash burden. And so it is that Las Vegas offers some of the most varied shopping options found anywhere on the planet. If you want trinkets, baubles, and beads, no problem. If you want a Picasso original, no problem. If you want a Vera Wang dress or an Armani tuxedo, no problem!
The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace were the first to offer visitors the unique indoor shopping experience that makes you feel like you're outdoors on a long Roman boulevard, complete with town squares, statuettes, and fountains. Many of the other hotels, like the Venetian and Paris, have copied this format and adapted it to their own theme styles.
In general, shopping in Las Vegas has definitely blossomed over the past 20-odd years. There are still the ubiquitous T-shirt and trinket shops on and around the Strip. More upscale shopping now has a home too, at places like the Fashion Show Mall and the Forum Shops, where you can find Gucci, Godiva, and Givenchy, but all for somewhat more than the price of a T-shirt. In short, you can shop till you drop.
